Sarah's Key

A tough subject, but very readable, and I really enjoyed it. The story is told by two people. One is Sarah, a ten year old Jewish girl in France, rounded up by the French police in July 1942. She leaves behind her four year old brother, locked in a cupboard. And it is also the story of an American woman, a journalist in France, married to a Frenchman. Their lives become joined, when the journalist discovers her French family took over the apartment Sarah left, and then searches for the "rest of the story".
