Mr. Patterson has created a group of smart women, friends, who solve crimes-dectectives, medical examiners, lawyers. They are well drawn and the stories are exciting. Most of the stories in this series take place in and around San Francisco, so they are fun for me, since I have been to the locations. Great vacation/beach/pool reading.

Really interesting plot involving President with a past, a botched abortion, and a kidnapping of another of President's affairs, and her daughter who had been adopted by the first lady's brother. But really it is the story of the father of the brain-dead botched abortion victim, a survivalist, who seeks retribution for his daughter. And it is the story of the spin-doctor First lady, and the story of the ex-secret service couple who solve the case, save the President and his wife, and then take the story to the Washington Post.

We picked this to drive to LA with in the car; I don't think I had ever read it. Really enjoyed the reading.
